SIMBA ACADEMY MUSIC AWARDS STRATEGY PLAN 2010-2015

Introduction
Founded by Jones Situma. The aim of the Simba academy music Awards is to publicly acknowledge and reward outstanding achievements by members of our society in the various fields in the music industry in the great lakes region and the whole of Africa by 2015. The first Award ceremony will be held on 3rd July 2010 at Carnivore gardens. Thereafter the Gala night ceremony will be held annually.
Simba academy music awards
An industry driven organization to develop and nurture the different organs of the music industry that constitute the roadmap and catalysts for the music practitioners.
Vision
Music as a career creates a stable and solid structure that will support and sustain the desirability of music by local artistes while generating income for living.
Mission
Promote and expose local talent nationally and internationally give added support to the local music industry diversifying the avenues that will be opened and support through advocacy, marketing and opening lucrative channels to build and develop and industry that is self reliant.
Strategic Objectives
Long term
• Develop the Kenyan music industry by rewarding the efforts through setting high levels of achievement.

• Manage the industry by giving it direction and bench marks that show the effort and growth exhibited
• Open up lucrative areas for the Musicians
• Cultivate a culture of Social Responsibility among the Music industry stakeholders and the general public

• Stage World Class award ceremony that is a culmination of periodic activities

Adhere to the vision, mission and objectives
Develop and implement integrated policies with effective procedures and systems for managing programs, human resource, financial resources and external relations
Corporate strategy
Create structures and systems that represent stability while maintaining a diverse yet controlled presence on the corporate scene through synergy with other established institutions both local and international.
Marketing Strategy
International accreditation through affiliations with established bodies by building a credible and strict code of execution of the marketing elements which have a three thronged bearing in promotion of the local music industry, building cohesion within the eastern Africa region and affiliating the diverse cultures around us.
Brand strategy
To build brand equity through packaging and added value in benefits derived from contra associations.

Management strategy
To ensure that programs/brands, personell, financial and human resources are managed in an effective and transparent manner
Financial management
To ensure that we have a sound and transparent management to enhance management systems and accounting procedures, creating a sustainable resource base to support programmes whilst developing a stable mechanism base that will fund raise and support the core operations of the awards scheme.
Implementation strategy
To re assure our artistes that the new structure will create a signature approval with international standards.
Create revenue channels i.e. securing funds for operations
Leverage the past present and future of the musical industry whilst exploring new avenues of revenue earnings.
Human resources
Develop a focused and coherent human resource strategy and optimize efficiency and effectiveness whilst consolidating and strengthening an effective communication reporting and motivational aspects.

EVENT STRATEGY
2010- To host a great lakes event with 1000 pax, nominees and red carpet guests
2011- To host a great lakes event with 1200 pax, nominees and red carpet guests
2012- To host a great lakes event with 1500 pax nominees and red carpet guests
2013- To host a great lakes event with 2000 pax, nominees and red carpet guests
2014- To host an eastern Africa event with 2500 pax, nominees and red carpet guests
2015- To host an all African event with 3000 pax, nominees and red carpet guests
